Mr. Raymond Hickox, age 67, of Patterson, passed away Tuesday night (9/30/25) at his residence following an extended illness.
Born March 6, 1958, in Blackshear, he was a son of the late Melvin James and Ina Johnson Hickox. He lived most of his life in Pierce County and was retired as a truck driver for 47 years, having driven for Pope Trucking, Inc, Greenbush Logistics, and Thom’s Transport. He was a member of Refuge Primitive Baptist Church in Pearson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Hickox Sharpe; three sisters, Mary Jane Heath, Julia Lawton and Annie Scott; and three brothers, William Hickox, Russell Hickox, and Steven Mitchell “Stevie” Hickox.
Survivors include his wife, Melinda Hickox, Patterson; son, Nicholas Hickox (fiancé Kimberly Teston), Sterling; daughter, Veronica Hickox, Savannah; 2 step-daughters, April Shook (husband Doug) and Abryana Tyre, both of Douglas; 6 grandchildren, Bill Sharpe, Jr., Taylor Sharpe, Mikell Whitt, Jr., James Hickox, Timothy Hickox, and Jason Hickox; 1 great grandson, River Wade Sharpe; two sisters, Glenda Hickox, Alma, and Kathleen (Marvin) Gill, Offerman; five brothers, J. D. Hickox, Patterson, Wendell Hickox of Florida, Clayton (Tracy) Hickox, Glen St. Mary, FL, Layton (Petra) Hickox, St. Marys, Michael (Lana) Hickox, Ellabell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place Saturday morning (10/4/25) at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning one hour prior to the service.
