Richard R. Dunning

Mr. Richard R. Dunning, age 71, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday afternoon (3/13/22) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following a short illness.

Born September 21, 1950 in Long Beach, California, he was a son of the late Robert Leroy and Joyce Alethea Conrad Dunning. He had lived in St. Louis, Missouri for many years before moving to Port St. Lucie, Florida in 2008.  He and his wife moved to Pierce County in 2020.  

He was a veteran, having served in the Vietnam War with the United States Navy and the United States Air Force. He was also retired as the Director of Aircraft Maintenance from Elite Air Group in Clearwater, Florida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Charles Dunning and David Dunning.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Darlene Guerrette Dunning of Blackshear; 4 children, Robert Dunning (fiancé Aexandria Swartz) of St. Simons Island; and Sandy Lynn Skrocki, Joshua Dunning, and Jonathan Dunning, all of Massachusetts; sisters, Sandra Creighton (husband Robert) of Boca Raton, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A memorial service will be announced at a later time to take place in New York.
