Robert Lawrence Carithers

Mr. Robert Lawrence Carithers, age 64, of Waycross, passed away Friday afternoon (7/30/21) at the Bacon County Hospital in Alma following an extended illness.

Born August 4, 1956 in Columbia, South Carolina, he was a son of the late William Hilton Carithers, Sr. and Frieda Elizabeth Carithers. He lived most of his life in Clewiston, Florida before moving to Waycross in 2001. He was retired as a centrifugal operator for U.S. Sugar and was a member of Christ’s Church in Waycross.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Marlene Carithers; a sister, Joanne Marion Carithers, and a brother, William Carithers.

Survivors include his children, Crystal Leigh Carithers, Elizabeth Ann Cozart (husband Dominic), Destiney Paige Carithers, all of Lakeland, FL, and Robert William Carithers, and Robert Lawrence Carithers, II, both of Waycross; 2 grandchildren, Aiden Lee and Leilani Ann Morrell, both of Lakeland, FL; 2 sisters, Marion Joanne Davis (husband Foye) of Blackshear and Janet Carithers Ptaszek (husband John Ptaszek) of Maggie Valley, North Carolina; and a nephew, Rev. Clinton Harris (wife Amy) of Patterson.

A memorial service will take place at a later date.
