Roderick Joseph Cribb

Mr. Roderick "Roddy" Joseph Cribb, age 70, of Blackshear, passed away late Saturday night (1/3/2026) at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida following a short illness.

Born June 30, 1955, in Albany, Georgia, he was a son of the late Robert Joseph Cribb and Betty Kirkland Bobbitt. He was a veteran, having served from 1975-1978 in the United States Marine Corps. He had lived in Jacksonville, Florida for most of his adult life and was retired as a supervisor with Southern Bell, BellSouth, and AT&T. He and his family moved to Pierce County in 2008, and he worked for the Pierce County Board of Education Transportation Department as a bus driver.

He was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Blackshear, where he served as the church treasurer, sound operator, drove the church bus, and worked with the youth.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Julie Nixon Cribb of Blackshear; daughter, Veronica Leigh Cribb of Blackshear; 2 sons, Randal Cribb (wife Siobhan) and Adam Cribb, both of Blackshear; 4 grandchildren, Serenity Cribb, Aibhilin Cribb, Mairenn Cribb, and Cliodhna Cribb, all of Blackshear; step-father, James “Jim” Bobbitt of St. Johns, FL; step-mother, Nettie Cribb of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Dennis Cribb (wife Amanda) of Jacksonville; sister, Karla Weeks (husband Jeff) of Jacksonville; nieces and nephews, Casey Cribb (wife Taylor), Kelli Hernandez (husband Bradley), Kristina Cormier (husband Tyler), Lindsey Weeks, and Caron Billings (husband Joe); and several other relatives.

A memorial service will take place Saturday (1/10/26) at 3 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Blackshear.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
