Mrs. Sabrina Iris Strickland Griffin, age 58, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday evening (7/4/21) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following an extended illness.
Born October 20, 1962 in Waycross, she lived all of her life in Pierce County. She was a 1980 graduate of Blackshear High School and was a corrections officer with the Ware State Prison. She was a member of Hacklebarney Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Strickland.
Survivors include her husband, Owen Griffin, Jr. of Blackshear; 3 children, Dena Cable (husband Pete) of California, Lindsay Griffin of Waycross, and Kendall Griffin (wife Haley) of Blackshear; 6 grandchildren, Zoe Cable, Isabella Cable, Zeke Cable, Dade Knight, Korbin Griffin, and Kannon Griffin; her mother, Iris Strickland of Blackshear; sister, Margie Taylor (husband James) of Blackshear; brother, Stanley Strickland (wife Kasey) of Blackshear; 4 sisters-in-law, Pam Taylor (husband Rick) of Waycross, Mary Howell (husband Richard) of Waycross, Teresa Mangione (husband Ken) of Jacksonville, and Tina Thomas (husband Tony) of Waycross; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place Tuesday afternoon (7/6/21) at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Ben James Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service beginning at 4 p.m.
