Mr. Michael Scott Howard, age 55, of Blackshear, passed away Friday morning (9/10/21) at Wayne Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Born May 25, 1966 in Blackshear, he was the son of Bobbie Jean Clark Howard and the late Eglon Elmo Howard. He lived all of his life in Pierce County and was a 1984 graduate of Pierce County High School. He graduated from Armstrong State University with his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and was employed as a Probation Officer with the State of Georgia.
He was a member of Patterson Baptist Church and attended the Followers of Christ Sunday School Class.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Fischer Howard.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Lee Howard of Blackshear; 4 children, J.J. Hickson (wife Jessica) of Blackshear, Tyler Howard (wife Jennifer) of Columbia, S.C., Dylan Howard of Blackshear, and Paige Floyd (husband Matthew) of Fleming, GA; 6 grandchildren, Fletcher Howard, Jackson Hickson, Sawyer Floyd, Leo Hickson, Quinton Howard, and Tucker Floyd; his mother, Bobbie Clark Howard of Blackshear; 2 sisters, Rhonda West (husband Clay) of Tifton and Brandi Howard of Waycross; a niece and nephew, Callie West and Austin West, both of Tifton; several aunts and uncles; and many cousins, friends, and other relatives
A funeral service will take place Tuesday morning (9/14/21) at 11 a.m. at Patterson Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Laura Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 p.m.
