Mrs. Sharon Elaine Rohde, age 64, of Blackshear, passed away Thursday evening (10/3/2019) at her residence surrounded by all of her family following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born June 28, 1955 in Red Oak, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late George Oliver and Avis Elaine Stanbrough Woodyard. She had lived in New York and Daytona, Florida for several years before moving to Pierce County in the mid 1980’s. She was employed at Sweat’s Dry Cleaners in Blackshear and was of the Lutheran faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” James Rohde, III.
Survivors include her 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Crysta and Brian Smith of Waycross, Holly and Kiley Ammons of Patterson, Michelle and Allen Conners of Patterson, and Tracy and Michael Thornton of Mershon; 10 grandchildren, Makenzie Allen, Alana Allen, and Eli Smith, all of Waycross, Dillon Rohde, Dalton Conners, Darren Conners, Kolby Ammons, and Cody Ammons, all of Patterson, and Macy Thornton and Dathan Thornton, both of Mershon; her sister, Brenda Sue Woodyard Whittaker of Garner, N.C.; 3 brothers, Mark Steven Woodyard of Centennial, CO, Rodney George Woodyard of Sorrento, FL, and Ronald Lee Woodyard of Rapid City, S.D.; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will take place Sunday afternoon (10/6/19) at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Hall officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
