Sherry Sue (Woodcock) Herrin

Mrs. Sherry Sue Woodcock Herrin, age 69, of Blackshear, passed away late Thursday night (3/27/25) at her daughter's residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born March 25, 1956, in Blackshear, she was a daughter of the late James Ward and Wylene Cason Woodcock.  Living all her life in Pierce County, she was a graduate of Blackshear High School.   She was a longtime employee of Julie Hat Company in Patterson and had been a caregiver/sitter for the elderly and a stay-at-home nana. She attended Offerman Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Joe” Eugene Herrin; a sister and brother-in-law, Tammy Woodcock (L.M.) Lane; 2 brothers, James Mitchell Woodcock and Sanford Marlowe Woodcock; and a brother-in-law, Dr. Randy DeLoach.

Survivors include her two daughters, Dana Herrin Todd and Deeya Herrin Jennings (husband Bobby), both of Blackshear; 4 grandchildren, Alyssa Jennings, Bryant Jennings, Logan Todd Cecil (husband Hunter), and Leigha Todd, all of Blackshear; 2 sisters, Alesia DeLoach of Douglas, and Wendy Kimbrell (husband Bronze) of Daytona Beach, FL; 3 brothers, Ray Anthony Woodcock of Patterson, Gregory Wendell Woodcock (wife Judie) of Brunswick, and Eric Ward Woodcock of Patterson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will take place Saturday morning (3/29/25) at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Rev. James Lightsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Patterson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
