Stacey Jo (Spears) Thompson

Mrs. Stacey Jo Spears Thompson, age 58, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday morning (4/9/23) at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born August 28, 1964, in Jacksonville, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Joe Rewis and Betty Faye Pippin Spears.  She grew up and lived in Jacksonville before moving to Pierce County in 2008. She was a longtime housewife, an excellent event planner, decorator, and one of the best hosts you’d ever meet.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Thompson of Blackshear, 3 children, Aaron Abbott of Jacksonville, Hannah Grant (husband Morris) of Hoboken, and Grant Thompson of Blackshear; 2 grandchildren, Kayden Grant and Easton Grant; sister, Tracey Bone (husband Mark) of Middleburg, FL; and several other relatives.

A funeral service will take place Thursday morning (4/13/23) at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
