Mr. Steven Thomas Tippins, age 65, of Bristol, passed away Saturday afternoon (7/1/23) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following a short illness.
Born August 31, 1957, in Blackshear, he was a son of the late William Charles “WC” “Dub” and Nina Ruth Dixon Tippins. He lived all his life in Pierce County and was a 1974 graduate of Blackshear High School. He had worked as an EMT for a short time and was a longtime self-employed construction contractor.
He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Dick Fulton.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Tippins of Bristol; 4 children, Josh Tippins of Blackshear, John Tippins of Atlanta, Van Crews (wife Casey) of Blackshear, and Reva Turner (husband Jeff) of Patterson; 8 grandchildren, Oakley Crews, Radien Crews, Naomi Clemens, Jude Crews, Alissa Turner, Asher Turner, Marie Turner, and Micah Crews; sister, Glenda Belcher (husband Odell) of Odum; 3 brothers, Jerry Tippins (wife Kathy) of Baxley, Tim Tippins of Blackshear, and Mitch Mitchell (wife Brandi) of Jacksonville, FL; mother-in-law, Vicki Sanberg (husband Jerry) of Florida, 2 sisters-in-law Tammy Hendrix (husband Robby) of Waycross and Rhonda Fulton of Florida; brother-in-law, Pete Fulton of Florida; 2 aunts, Molly Strickland of Bristol and JoAnn Tippins of Blackshear; uncle, Johnny Dixon of Waycross; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life will take place Friday evening (7/7/23) at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
