Terry Shawn Griffis Obituary

Mr. Terry Shawn Griffis, age 51, of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday evening (6/26/24) at his residence following a short illness.

Born October 10, 1972, in Waycross, he was the son of Terry Lloyd and Janice Marie Anderson Griffis. He lived most of his life in Pierce County and was a 1991 graduate of Pierce County High School. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and was of the Pentecostal faith.

He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Lloyd Griffis and Harold Anderson.

Survivors include his two children, Logan Griffis (wife Laylin) and Katelyn Griffis, both of Blackshear; 2 grandchildren, Callan and Emory Griffis;  parents, Terry and Janice Griffis of  Blackshear; grandmothers, Addie Crews of Blackshear and DeLois Carter of Waycross; aunts and uncles, Jean Wiggins of Chattanooga, TN,  Vickie Wiggins of McCaysville, GA, Donnie and Kathy Griffis, Charlotte Sanders, and Debbie Dixon, all of Blackshear, and Marilyn Griffis of Waycross; and several cousins and other relatives.

A funeral service will take place Saturday (6/29/24) at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Peacock officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackshear City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
