William Spencer Boyette

Mr. William Spencer “Billy” Boyette, age 67, of Patterson, passed away early Monday morning (5/12/2025) at Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside in Jacksonville following an extended illness.

Born September 11, 1957, in Jacksonville, Florida, he was a son of the late James Randall Boyette, Sr. and Vinnie Ruth Byrd Boyette.  He lived most of his life in Ware and Pierce Counties and had worked many years as a self-employed carpenter.  For the past almost 20 years, he worked in the maintenance department for the Ware County Board of Education.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Louise Dean Boyette; 2 sisters, Martha Jean Watford and Margaret Jane McDuffie; and a brother, James Randall “Buddy” Boyette, Jr.

Survivors include his daughter, Misty Boyette Smith of Waycross; son, Phillip Morris (wife Amanda) of Waycross; 8 grandchildren, Kearston Smith, Jaxon Smith, Mathew Smith, Austin Morris (fiancé Kristen), Braden Morris (wife Stella), Christina Jordan (husband John), Maia Beverley, and Madison Fisher; 2 great grandchildren and another expected soon, Kinley Jordan, Aliyah Herlong, and Willow Smith expected soon; 4 sisters, Jewlene Sweat (husband late Shelby) of Brantley County, Mary Beverley (husband Merrell) of Manor, Colleen Taylor (husband Benny) of Blackshear, and Darlene Griffin (husband Terry) of Blackshear; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will take place Thursday (5/15/25) at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Kettle Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
