Mr. William “Bill” Clayton McCoy, age 61, of Patterson, passed away Saturday morning (10/16/21) at his residence following a short illness.
Born May 8, 1960 in Bushnell, Florida, he was a son of the late Emmett and Uldine Summerlin McCoy. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force and had worked for Toyota. He moved to Pierce County in 1992 and had worked as a welder assistant for Arcrite.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Margaret Hills and Deborah Moore; and a brother, Emmett McCoy, Jr.
Survivors include his life partner, Diane Foster of Patterson; 2 step-children, James L. “Bo” Foster, Jr (Vera) of Patterson and Kimberly Foster Cary (husband Dustin) of Jacksonville; 2 granddaughters, Jessi Cary and Brandi Cary; 3 sisters, Wanda Gilpin (husband Peter) of Fleming Island, FL, Linda Burch of Callahan, FL, and Dianna Schuman (husband Lee) of Orange Park, FL; 1 brother, Lee McCoy of Jacksonville, FL; his mother-in-law, Laquita Boatright of Patterson; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday (10/30/21) at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Blackshear.
