William Milledge

Mr. William Milledge, age 75, of Patterson, passed away on Sunday morning at his residence.

Born March 31, 1947 in Patterson, he was a son of the late Johnny and Minnie Jernigan Milledge. He was a lifelong resident of Pierce County and graduated from Lee Street High School in 1968. He was a veteran, having served as a Sergeant in the United States Army. He worked as a Relief Foreman at Rayonier and was the owner of Sweet Lemon Lawn Care.

He was a member of Greater St. James A.M.E Church in Blackshear where he was a past member of the Trustees and served as a member of the Steward Board at the time of his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Green and Betty Jean Fuller; and two brothers, Jimmy Lee Jernigan and David Milledge.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Lillie Milledge of Offerman; two children, Tasha Ross (husband Isaac) of Tifton and Ronjii Milledge (wife Nicole) of Lake Park; nine grandchildren, Laryne Milledge, Hayden Milledge, Jataisa Alexander, Faith Newton, Jackson Newton, Jakobi Allen, Kailani Allen, Laylah Welch, and Jaquarious Welch; and five siblings, Agnes Jenkins of Patterson, Fleming Milledge (wife Vivian) of Offerman, Johnny Milledge of Patterson, Franklin Milledge (wife Gloria) of Offerman, and Herman Mitchell (wife Janet) of Fort Washington, MD; in addition to a multitude of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Ridge Cemetery, 5610 Washington Lane, Patterson GA.
